The Moot Court Society of Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, New Panvel proudly organized the “SHASTRARTH” National Moot Court Competition from 21st to 23rd March 2025 under the guidance of in-charge principal Mrs. Sanavi Deshmukh. The three-day event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 26 premier law institutions across India, making it a truly national-level legal battle of minds. The competition was inaugurated by Justice Vijay Achliya, Former Judge of Bombay High. The event began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony followed by an address on the importance of mooting in the legal profession. Each team presented compelling arguments on a well-crafted moot proposition based on Environmental Law, judged by a panel comprising advocates, and sitting judges. The competition began with the Researcher’s test on 21st March and after rigorous preliminary, and semi-final rounds on 22nd March , the Grand Final was held on 23rd March 2025, in the presence of an esteemed bench of Hon’ble High Court Judges, Justice Umesh Salvi and Justice Abhay Thipsay. Winners were as follows: Winner Team: Team Code 18, KC Law College, Mumbai Runner-up Team: Team Code 22, Christ University, Lavasa Best Speaker: Team Code 18, Speaker 1, KC Law College, Mumbai Best Researcher: Team Code 14, Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai Best Memorial: Team Code 10, MNLU, Nagpur The valedictory ceremony concluded with the distribution of trophies, certificates, and cash prizes to the winners, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by the Faculty Convener Asst. Professor Aparajita Gupta, In-charge of the Moot Court Society. The event not only provided a platform for budding lawyers to showcase their advocacy skills but also fostered academic growth, legal awareness, and networking among law students nationwide. The Moot Court Society extends heartfelt gratitude to all participants, judges and volunteers, for making “Shastrarth 2025” a grand success.
