Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, New Panvel, successfully organized a live YouTube screening of the Nasha Mukti Awareness Programme under the Campus Connect initiative on 22nd August 2026 in the Seminar Hall of the college. The actual programme was organized at the D. Y. Patil Campus, Nerul, while students of Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law participated through the live YouTube screening. The programme was organized by the DLLE Committee under the guidance of Principal Dr. Sanavi Deshmukh and coordinated by Asst. Prof. Anam Mehandikar, in collaboration with the Khandeshwar Police Authorities, represented by Ms. Shweta Patil, Police Officer. The programme commenced at 10:30 a.m. and concluded at 3:00 p.m. The primary objective of the programme was to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug and substance abuse, prevention of addiction, legal consequences of drug-related activities, and the importance of maintaining a healthy, responsible and drug-free lifestyle. A variety of awareness-oriented activities were conducted as part of the programme. Students actively participated in songs, moto acts, dramas, skits, poster-making and reel competitions based on the theme of drug abuse and its prevention. The creative presentations highlighted the physical, psychological and social impact of substance abuse, along with the legal consequences associated with drug-related activities. The participants conveyed a strong and meaningful message against drug addiction. The winners of the skit, poster and reel competitions were felicitated and awarded for their creative efforts and valuable contribution towards spreading awareness. An important highlight of the programme was the live screening of the address by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis, on the Nasha Mukti initiative. Students actively participated in the awareness campaign and took the pledge to “Say No to Drugs.” The pledge encouraged students to stay away from drugs, make healthy and responsible choices, and contribute towards building a drug-free society. Ms. Shweta Patil from the Khandeshwar Police Authorities also contributed to the programme by creating awareness among students about the dangers of drug abuse, preventive measures and the legal consequences of drug-related activities. Her interaction helped students understand the issue from both social and legal perspectives and emphasized the important role of young citizens in preventing substance abuse. The programme concluded with a strong message to the students: “Say No to Drugs – Choose Health, Choose Your Future.” The initiative successfully encouraged students to recognize their responsibility in preventing substance abuse and promoting a safe, healthy and responsible campus and society. The programme was successfully conducted with the active participation of students and the support of the college administration, DLLE Committee, faculty members and Khandeshwar Police Authorities. The initiative reflected the college’s commitment to building responsible citizens, promoting justice, creating social awareness and encouraging responsible choices among students.
