The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, New Panvel celebrated NSS Day on September 24th 2025 combined with an orientation program for the incoming BALLB 5-year students. The event successfully introduced the new batch to the NSS motto of 'Not Me But You' and highlighted the modern dimensions of community service, particularly in the digital realm. The celebration culminated in a powerful visual demonstration through a human chain, spelling out key phrases and numbers, including the Government designated Cyber Helpline Number. A highlight of the celebration was the creation of a human chain forming the words "NSS," "DAY," and the number "1930" The program commenced with an inaugural address by Asst. Prof. Raghav sharma who emphasized the importance of youth involvement in nation-building and community development. The NSS Chief Program Officer Asst. Prof. Suraj Bhalerao, then delivered an insightful orientation session. This session covered the history and objectives of NSS. Human Chain Formation - A Symbol of Unity and Service: Following the orientation, all participating students, faculty, and NSS volunteers gathered in the Activity area to create a series of symbolic human chains. This interactive activity was designed to visually represent the core messages of the day. The he first formation saw students meticulously arranging themselves to spell out "NSS," symbolizing their commitment to the National Service Scheme. "DAY," celebrating the National Service Scheme and its annual formation date.The students then formed the number "1930," which was prominently declared as the Cyber Helpline Number promoted by the government for reporting and seeking assistance on cyber threats. This formation served as a powerful public service announcement, integrating the core NSS value of community help with the modern necessity of digital security and cybercrime prevention—a particularly relevant theme for law students.
