Savitribai Phule Jayanti was celebrated on 3rd January 2026 at Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, New Panvel, under the able guidance and expertise of our respected Principal, Dr. Sanavi Deshmukh. The programme was organized by the National Day Celebration Committee, under the charge of Asst. Prof. Dr. Mamta Bhattacharjee, in coordination with the Cultural Committee In-charge, Asst. Prof. Aishwarya Patole Ma’am. To commemorate the birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule and to highlight her immense contribution to education and social reform, an Essay Writing Competition was organized for students. The objective of the competition was to foster research aptitude, critical thinking, and academic excellence among students while paying tribute to Savitribai Phule’s visionary leadership and lifelong dedication to women’s education and social equality. The programme commenced with a formal welcome address by Asst. Prof. Aishwarya Patole Ma’am. This was followed by an insightful and inspiring lecture delivered by our respected Principal, Dr. Sanavi Deshmukh, who elaborated on the life, values, struggles, and achievements of Savitribai Phule. Her address motivated students to reflect upon the importance of education as a tool for social transformation. Students from 1st Year LL.B. and 2nd Year LL.B. actively participated in the programme by presenting speeches and a Powada, which captivated the audience and added cultural richness to the event. The essay writing competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, and the faculty members efficiently undertook the evaluation of essays within a short span of time. The winners were felicitated with trophies and certificates, and participation certificates were awarded to all the participants in appreciation of their efforts and involvement. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mamta Bhattacharjee, expressing gratitude to the management, faculty members, and students for their valuable support and cooperation, which contributed to the successful organization of the event.
