The 79th Independence Day of India was celebrated at Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, New Panvel, with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. The entire campus was adorned with tricolour decorations, and rangoli, creating an atmosphere filled with pride and unity. Students, faculty members, and staff gathered early in the morning to participate in the celebration.
The programme commenced with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Hon’ble Mrs. Archana Paresh Thakur, Member J.B.S.P. Sanstha, Panvel, who was warmly welcomed by our Principal Dr. Sanavi A Deshmukh Ma’am. The national flag was hoisted at 9:00 a.m., accompanied by the singing of the National Anthem by all present, filling the air with patriotic spirit.
Under the guidance of our Principal Ma’am, the National Day Celebrations Committee, Incharge, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mamta Bhattacharjee Goswami, and Cultural Committee, In charge, Asst. Prof. Aishwarya Patole. The cultural programme started from 9:30 a.m. onwards till 10:30 a.m. The cultural programme inititated with the Maharashtra Geet, speech, and dance performance by students, showcasing India’s rich heritage and diversity. Poems recited by students stirred feelings of pride and respect for the nation.
The Chief Guests delivered inspiring speeches Our Principal also addressed the gathering, encouraging students to uphold the values of unity, discipline, and responsibility towards society, she also highlighted the significance of Independence Day, the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters, and the role of youth in building a stronger nation.
The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by the distribution of refreshments to all attendees. The event was a grand success, reflecting the collective dedication of the entire BCT community to honour the nation’s freedom and its ideals.
