‘LAW AT YOUR DOORSTEP’

Department of Law, University of Mumbai, Maharashtra State University; Department of Law, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Uttar Pradesh State University and J.B.S.P. Sanstha’s Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, Panvel, Raigad, jointly organized Legal Aid Awareness Programme for Academic Year 2021-22, “LAW AT YOUR DOORSTEP”.
The programme began with National Anthem. Hon’ble Shri. Justice B. N. Shrikrishna, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India, inaugurated this Webinar Series on 1st August, 2021. Due to Corona Virus pandemic, this Webinar series was conducted online on Zoom app and simultaneously telecasted live on YouTube.
Dr. Mrs. Rajeshree Varhadi, Professor and Head of Department, Department of Law, University of Mumbai, delivered Introductory Address and highlighted importance of Legal awareness. Thereafter, Dr. Ranjan Kumar, Professor, Head and Dean, Department of Law, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi, delivered Introductory Speech and enlightened everyone with words of wisdom. Hon’ble Mr. Baliram Gaikwad, Registrar, University of Mumbai, congratulated the organizers for the joint efforts taken by them for organising this webinar series and he also guided all the participants. Thereafter, Dr. Mrs. Shitala S. Gavand, Principal, Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, introduced the Hon’ble Chief Guest and highlighted the importance of this Webinar Series for expanding horizons of knowledge.
The Chief Guest, Hon’ble Shri. Justice B. N. Shrikrishna, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India, while inaugurating this Webinar Series delivered lecture on the topic “LAW AND SOCIETY” and explained importance of law in society, its connection with society and various other aspects.
