INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY CELEBRATION

International Yoga Day, celebrated every year on June 21, highlights the importance of yoga in promoting physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Proposed by India and adopted by the United Nations in 2014, the day has since been observed globally
Yoga, an ancient practice with origins in India, is more than just physical exercise. It is a holistic approach to health and harmony, combining breathing techniques, meditation, and physical postures. Celebrating Yoga Day helps raise awareness about its benefits in managing stress, improving flexibility, enhancing concentration, and promoting overall wellness. International Yoga Day, celebrated every year on June 21, highlights the importance of yoga in promoting physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Proposed by India and adopted by the United Nations in 2014, the day has since been observed globally with great enthusiasm. Under the guidance of our Principal, Prof. Dr. Sanavi A Deshmukh Ma’am, the National Day Celebrations Committee, Incharge, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mamta Bhattaharjee, Cultural Committee, Incharge, Asst. Prof. Aishwarya Patole and Health Committee, Incharge, Asst. Prof. Shilpa Nangaonkar, celebrated International Yoga Day which was held in the Seminar Hall of Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, New Panvel. The Session started from 9 a.m. onwards till 10:30 a.m. under the expert guidance of Yoga expert, Mrs. Pallavi Khot. Mrs. Pallavi Khot is Yoga enthusiast and has been practising Yoga for a couple of years. The Yoga Session initiated with some light warm up exercises, which then was preceded with Surya Namaskar, Bhujangasana, Naukasana, Dhanurasana and many more asanas. Breathing exercises were also taught by Pallavi Ma’am and the Session ended with Meditation and Shavasana. The Yoga Session was actively participated by all the Teaching Faculties and Non-Teaching Faculties of Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law. The Session boosted the spirit of upholding health and mental wellness above all other necessities of our daily life. We were all refreshed, rejuvenated, revitalized which had a lingering feeling of confidence, satisfaction and assurance throughout the day. International Yoga Day serves as a reminder of the power of balance in our busy lives. As the world faces increasing stress and health challenges, the adoption of yoga offers a simple, accessible, and effective tool for well-being. Participating in Yoga Day is a step toward a healthier, more mindful society.
