BCT College of Law celebrated the Independence Day with great enthusiasm, patriotic spirit, and a strong sense of national pride. The programme was jointly organized by the NSS Unit and Cultural Committee of BCT College of Law to commemorate India's independence and to create awareness among students about the values of freedom, unity, democracy, social responsibility, and national service.
The celebration was graced by Hon’ble Mrs. Archana Paresh Thakur, Member of JBSP Sanstha, as the Chief Guest. The programme was attended by the Dr Sanavi Deshmukh Principal Madam and Asst. Prof. Dhanashri M. Chougale BALLB Coordinator, teaching and non-teaching staff, NSS volunteers, members of the Cultural Committee, Student Council representatives, and students.
The programme was anchored by Mrunal Patekar, President of the Student Council, who conducted the proceedings with confidence and ensured the smooth flow of the various activities. The formal Vote of Thanks was proposed by Darshan Bhoir, Secretary of the Student Council, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, Principal Madam, faculty members, organizers, participants, and students.
Flag Hoisting Ceremony
The programme commenced with the flag-hoisting ceremony. The Chief Guest, Hon’ble Mrs. Archana Paresh Thakur, hoisted the National Flag in the presence of the Dr. Sanavi Deshmukh Principal, faculty members, staff, NSS volunteers, Student Council members, and students.
As the Tricolour unfurled proudly, the entire gathering stood in respect and honour of the National Flag. The ceremony created an atmosphere of patriotism and reminded everyone of the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters who fought for the independence of our nation.
The flag-hoisting ceremony also provided an opportunity for the students to reflect upon the importance of freedom and the responsibilities that come with being citizens of an independent and democratic nation.
Nasha Mukti Oath
Following the flag hoisting, a Nasha Mukti Oath was administered in front of the hoisted National Flag. The students, faculty members, and other members of the gathering took the oath with sincerity and solemnity.
The oath aimed to create awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and encouraged everyone to stay away from intoxicating substances. It emphasized the importance of a healthy lifestyle and the collective responsibility of society to work towards creating a drug-free and healthier India.
The initiative was particularly meaningful in a college environment, as students can play an important role in spreading awareness about the dangers of addiction and encouraging their peers and communities to adopt healthy and responsible lifestyles.
Cultural Programme
Nupur Paranjape presented a thought-provoking monoact on “The Last 7 Minutes After Death,” leaving a strong impression on the audience. Ritesh Patil enhanced the patriotic spirit by singing patriotic songs. Shravani Karande delivered an elocution speech on Independence Day, highlighting the importance of freedom and the responsibilities of citizens. Their performances added enthusiasm and meaning to the celebration.
Prize Distribution Ceremony
The programme also included a prize distribution ceremony, during which students who had secured positions or performed commendably in various competitions and activities were felicitated.
The prizes were presented to appreciate the efforts, dedication, and achievements of the students. The recognition served as an encouragement for students to participate actively in academic, cultural, social, and extracurricular activities.

Contribution of NSS and Cultural Committee
