Introduction
Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, New Panvel, organised a Guest Lecture on Career Guidance: Pathways, Opportunities and Future on 17th October 2026. The session aimed to help students explore career options, build confidence and plan their future in law and beyond.
Proceedings
The programme began with the lighting of the lamp by the Principal, Dr. Sanavi Deshmukh, the guest speaker and the dignitaries, symbolising the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom. The National Anthem and the Maharashtra Geet followed. The anchor then introduced the guest speaker, and the Principal felicitated him as a mark of respect and gratitude.
Adv. Metanshu Rajesh Purandare holds an LL.M. in Criminal Law from Kirit P. Mehta School of Law, NMIMS University, and a B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from the University of Mumbai Law Academy. A Counsel at the Bombay High Court, he has experience in criminal trials, civil litigation, writ petitions, public interest litigation, mediation and arbitration. He has also worked in legal research at the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, served as a visiting faculty member at several institutions, and founded unLAWk India, a platform for legal articles on contemporary issues.
In her address, the Principal emphasised the importance of informed career choices and continuous learning.
The speaker shared practical insights from his own journey, noting that a law degree opens a door but the direction taken depends on skills, choices, commitment and willingness to learn. An interactive question-and-answer session followed, in which students asked career-related questions and received guidance from the speaker.
Conclusion
The programme concluded with the vote of thanks, Vande Mataram and a group photograph. The session gave students greater clarity about the opportunities available to them and the preparation, discipline and practical skills needed to pursue them.
