As an important aspect of the Practical Training I, BALLB 3rd Year students of Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, New Panvel visited the Khandewshwar Police Station, Khanda Colony, New Panvel on 23rd September 2025, for an educational and fascinating experience. The purpose of the hands-on training was to provide the enthusiastic group of almost fourty-five students a better understanding of day-to-day working of Police Station. This visit was organised by subject teacher Asst. Prof. Suraj Bhalerao & Asst.Prof.Anam Mehndikar under the guidance of in-charge principal of Bhagubai Changu Thakur College of Law, New Panvel Dr. Sanavi Deshmukh Madam. The visit began with an informative briefing from the station's officers, who welcomed the students and introduced them to the various aspects of their roles and responsibilities. They explained the structure of the police department, the hierarchy, and the critical functions they perform in maintaining law and order. The students were then taken on a tour of the police station, where they had the opportunity to witness first-hand the various departments, including the reception, woman help cell, the evidence storage area. They also provided valuable insights into the chain of custody, the importance of maintaining evidence integrity, and the procedures followed during arrests and detention. Furthermore, the students engaged in meaningful discussion with the Police Inspector,Smt. Smita Dhakne asking questions and seeking clarification on legal procedures, Cyber Crimes and the various challenges in policing. This interactive session in which the students also engaged in a Q&A with the officer, discussing the challenges they face, the importance of the rule of law, and the delicate balance between maintaining public safety and protecting individual rights. The BALLB 3rd year students of BCT Law College's visit to Khandewshwar Police Station proved to be an eye-opening experience, helping them connect their classroom knowledge to real-world legal practice.
